Family Tree Magazine-40 Best Genealogy Blogs

No Birth Certificate Found
What to do? I sent the paperwork and fee to the NJ state archives for my grandmothers birth certificate. I just received a letter back stating there was no birth certificate found. I have a copy of her death record I received from my aunt, so I know I have the exact date and place she was born. In order to get a certified birth and death record on my great great grandfather I have to prove relationship. I have to send in a copy of my birth certificate, my mothers, grandmothers & great grandmother. I have all but my grandmothers!

Snowed In, Mays Landing, N.J
Flew in to Mays Landing last Friday to visit my Grandmother. She had a bad fall last Wed and then fell again twice before I arrived on Friday. My Grandmother is 94 and lives by herself. My Sister came from NY so between the two of us we have been busy taking care of Grand mom. I was suppose to leave Monday but I was snowed in. My flight was changed to tomorrow but it might be cancelled it is snowing again! I moved from Mays Landing to Ocala, Florida sixteen years ago, so you know I am freezing! I have never seen so much snow. My sister and I tried to make a snowman but the snow would not stick.
I am worried about my Grandmother, she cannot live by herself anymore. We are making arrangements for someone to come stay with her. I have to go back home for awhile to make arrangements so I can come back as soon as I can. My father is retired now and lives close to grand mom but she still needs live in assistance. Today were are getting her the “help I’ve fallen alarm” that still is no comfort to my sister and I.
The other night we looked at some old photos, she had an old suitcase full! In there was an old grade school photo journal of my grandfather! This was the first time I seen photos of him so young.
It is snowing and snowing….it sure is pretty
